European HTC EVO 3D now official, to start selling in July

You may also like: 99 Reasons Why I Love You

Well it is official, folks - the European version of the HTC EVO 3D has just been officially announced. And it will only take Europeans until July to be able to actually purchase one of those.

The HTC 3D pioneer comes with a couple of 5 MP snappers on its back and a hardware two-position shutter button, which is pretty rare for an Android. Speaking of which, the EVO 3D comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which is the latest version of the Google OS designed for smartphones.
There's a dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor under the hood and a qHD (540x960) 3D screen, using the parallax barrier technology on top. It's basically a Sensation with a 3D twist, which makes it even more exciting.
In fact the only other changes from the Sensation are the upgraded amount of RAM - the EVO 3D has 1 GB over the 768 MB of the Sensation and the cameras. The Sensation has an 8 MP camera with all the toppings, while the EVO 3D offers the 2 x 5 MP deal. Here's the entire spec story of the Sensation versus the EVO 3D.
The cameras of the EVO 3D are capable of capturing 3D video of 720p resolution, while 1080p video is 2D only. Interestingly the EVO 3D will also offer an HDR mode for capturing images but it looks like that only works in 2D mode.

The official Press release for the occasion only shares that it will be "broadly available" so we can't give you guys any specifics on country availability and pricing yet.

Samsung to launch a 1.4 GHz Galaxy S II in September?

You may also like: 99 Reasons Why I Love You

A particularly juicy rumor has it that Samsung is preparing an updated version of its Samsung Galaxy S II flagship with a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor. The upgrade could either be delivered with the NFC-capable version of the company flagship or in a completely new smartphone.
Word is Samsung is preparing an updated version of its Exynos SoC. It will reportedly retain the same GPU (Mali-400MP) and RAM amount (1GB), but it will boost the processor speed by 200 MHz to 1.4 GHz. Samsung has done that once, upping the Galaxy S II CPU frequency right before its market release.
The more interesting question is whether we'll see the new SoC in an updated version of the Galaxy S II, such as the upcoming NFC edition, or it is going to launch within a completely new device.
According to the source Samsung is making the update so its flagship will be able to compete even more successfully with the iPhone 5, when it gets announced (reportedly this September). We'll hopefully see how things turn out after a couple of months.

Alien Dalvik will let you run Android apps on the Nokia N9

You may also like: 99 Reasons Why I Love You

In case you were worried about application support for the N9, you have one less reason to worry now. Along with applications created specifically for the phone, you will even be able to run Android applications on it.

Thanks to a little something called the Alien Dalvik, a software that lets you run unmodified Android application on non-Android devices. All the developers have to do is repackage the .apk files and the applications can be used on other devices running Alien Dalvik. The application is able to utilize the full potential of the hardware and the user experience is virtually identical to that of using it on regular Android device. The software emulates the hardware controls on Android devices so the application can be controlled on non-Android devices.
According to Myriad, the developers of Alien Dalvik, it will be made available for MeeGo sometime later this year.

Gingerbread launch for Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 nears

You may also like: 99 Reasons Why I Love You

When it got announced back in March, the future availability of Android 2.3 Gingerbread for Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 caused quite a stir among the brand's fans. Now, we have a video preview of the OS update for you, and a launch date (sort of).

There have been some changes in the features which were originally promised back in March. Among them is the camera UI of the device in the update - it will remain the same as in the older OS versions, and not revert to a stock Android UI. This change was made mostly due to requests from users of the XPERIA X10.
The Facebook inside Xperia functionality from the 2011 lineup of Sony Ericsson droids will be a part of the update. Same goes for the desktop layout and the gesture controls. The music player will get an equalizer too. You will also be able to use the phone as a modem or Wi-Fi hotspot.
As far as apps are concerned, the update will bring support for the most current applications from the Android Market including Adobe Flash player. We have a video of XPERIA X10 with Gingerbread on board in action. Check it out below:

Early August is the expected launch time of the Android update. It is important to note that users of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 with Android versions which have been modified by their mobile operators might not be able to upgrade. Hit the source link below to get the full scoop on the upcoming update and tell us what do you think in the comments section below.

Nokia N950 images emerge, give us a peek at the QWERTY

You may also like: 99 Reasons Why I Love You

When Nokia announced the N950 MeeGo dev kit, they did it without any fanfare - without photos even. Now that injustice has been fixed and the aluminum-clad device is available to gawk at in a gallery of leaked official images.
The Nokia N9, the consumer-oriented MeeGo phone, got plenty of attention but all the N950 got was a text file detailing the differences between it and the N9. Sill, we know many MeeGo enthusiasts will prefer to get their hands on the developer-exclusive N950 than the touchscreen-only N9.

The images don't seem to be finalized (one of them actually has a label saying "This will be replaced with flash thingy") and we only get a glimpse of the QWERTY keyboard.
Also there are no photos of the back of the Nokia N950. We were hearing some rumors that the N950 actually packs a 12MP camera (plus there's this image from the leaked promo video from a while back) but we didn’t get anything solid to confirm this - so we were hoping a view of the back will finally settle this dispute.
Well, here are the rest of the Nokia N950 images for you to gorge your eyes on.

China the Giant - Pioneer in Multi SIM cell phones

I have surveyed on how branded mobile phone manufacturers are planning to beat Chinese made handset with low cost Dual-SIM phones, but it seems that European brands are up against very tough competition.
I mean look at following, 4 SIMs into one phone – and that too for just Rs. 2,500 or 28 dollars – that’s unbeatable.
Okay you can argue on quality and so many other things, but assembling a phone that can run 4 SIMs in just 28 dollars will surely require an effort to beat.

Just Look at this picture its just an example:
